PYRO 2011 |
Southern African Pyrometallurgy 2011 International ConferenceCradle of Humankind, South Africa, 6-9 March 2011
The highlight of the social programme is a visit to see Saltimbanco by Cirque du Soleil (circus of the sun) on the last night of the conference. The critically acclaimed international entertainment group Cirque du Soleil will perform for the first time ever in South Africa on Wednesday 9 March at the Coca-Cola Dome in Johannesburg. Saltimbanco (from the Italian saltare in banco which literally means 'to jump on a bench') explores the urban experience in myriad forms, and draws spectators into a fanciful imaginary city where diversity is a cause for hope. Cirque du Soleil has a cast of 50 artists from 20 countries. Saltimbanco features breathtaking acrobatics and unbelievable athleticism.
An alternative, for those who would prefer something else, is to instead attend 'Evita the musical', the show by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber, at the Main Theatre at Montecasino.
