Adam holds M.Sc.(Eng.) and PhD degrees in mechanical engineering
from the Technical University of Silesia, Gliwice, Poland. He is
a member of AIChE, ASME, Institute of Combustion, and an individual
member of EFCE. From 1990 to 1992 he was a Research Associate at
the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of British Columbia,
Vancouver, Canada.
Adam's main research interests are in the field of fluidization and
fluidized-bed systems. Specific areas of research include: combustion
and gasification of coal and refuse-derived fuels, mathematical modelling
of fluidized-bed reactors and boilers, application of fluidization
technology in metallurgy and minerals processing (calcination, roasting,
pre-heating, pre-reduction), municipal and hazardous wastes incineration,
and environmental aspects of fossil fuels combustion. His publications
consist of 19 papers and several technical reports.
